04th Apr 2011 - Rise in Jobs
Protracted GDP, rising cost of oil and petrol, falling consumer spend, rising taxes…….the list goes on.
All this may very well be, but recruitment and specifically finance recruitment for us, is definitely on the up.
Whether it’s the time of year with year end or as a result of other factors, there has definitely been an upsurge in the number of jobs being recruited for with more companies saying they planned to hire new staff. Britain's manufacturers maintained record growth rates last month, a number of retailers have shown increased profits, fashion brands are doing well overseas and even though British consumers are feeling the pinch, it appears this isn’t necessarily the case elsewhere in the world.
Sustained M&A activity is also improving job prospects for financial services workers and this is already evident in the City job market.
So, while it’s all rather depressing reading the trade press and watching the news, our motto here is to make the proverbial hay while the sun is shining, which it seems to be doing a little more brightly than in recent times.
