Financial Planning and Analysis Director / Media / Prague

A leading CEE focused multi-national Media Company is looking for a Director of FP&A. This is an excellent opportunity working for a fast paced and highly dynamic organisation with an excellent business strategy and a commitment to optimising growth potential at all times. This is a senior and influential position with clear visibility to senior management of the 'group'.
The right candidate must currently reside in Prague. The Director of Financial Planning & Analysis will monitor and analyse the financial performance of the Group on a monthly basis, manage the annual budget process, supervise the preparation of periodic long-term forecasts, and take responsibility for performing specialized analytical tasks as requested.
Key responsibilities include:
• Developing a detailed understanding of each operation’s performance against budgets and forecasts including audience share performance, market dynamics, revenue, costs, trading cash flow, capital expenditure and programming spend, etc;
• Reviewing and challenging the annual budget and long-term forecasts of each division and country operation; reviewing and challenging the market and competitive environments of each country operations;
• Reviewing and challenging the Management & Discussion Analysis section of quarterly SEC filing;
• Assist in developing earnings guidance for presentation to investors, as well as reviewing and challenging the information presented in our quarterly earnings call slides;
• Working with the Group Finance team to identify, develop and implement reporting formats and templates to meet new and changing requirements;
• Supporting the management team in preparing financial performance presentations to the Board; and responding to ad hoc queries from the CFO and the wider Management team.
Key relationships include:
• The CFO and the wider Central Finance function;
• Divisional and Country Finance Directors; and
• FP&A Team including four direct reports.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
• A high level of knowledge of and skills in accounting, finance, and business analysis acquired through training and at least five years experience in a relevant discipline. Previous experience in the media or communications industry is highly desirable;
• An appreciation of the importance of financial systems and processes to delivering high quality financial analysis: Advanced excel modelling skills are essential, while a detailed knowledge of Hyperion applications would be extremely useful.
• A creative, analytical and practical approach to resolving issues, with an ability to look beyond the numbers to understand the business and its risks and opportunities;
• Reliable and dedicated, with a positive approach and an exemplary level of commitment to completing the task;
• Exceptional influencing and diplomacy skills including maturity and calmness in dealing with strong personalities and competing priorities;
• Strong leadership skills, with a passion for operational excellence and team development. Able to liaise and interact well both within a team and with more senior employees;
• An innovative approach in dealing with analytical issues and problems; • Good judgment and skills in assessing business risks; • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure, delegate appropriately and multi-task; and
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
