Description

Our client is a leading Real Estate firm who works to provide bespoke financing solutions to a diverse range of industry professionals across a multitude of assets - from major property developments to alternatives to receivables.

The Role:

This role is to take primary responsibility for all project level accounting responsibilities across a number of property development projects across the UK and Europe. Key responsibilities include the reporting and monitoring of project job costs against budgets, working with internal stakeholders to ensure flow of financial information, forecasting of project profits and providing the related internal and external reporting requirements to key commitees, asset management teams and external investors.

This role offers huge variety and an opportunity to take ownership over a wide portfolio of real estate developments including residential, student, hotels and co-living from the planning phase through to operations. The role will require excellent understanding of real estate and development processes and will work closely with the Asset Manager for the business alongside the CFO.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cashflow forecasting and management through liaison with external JV partners
  • Tracking actuals versus budgets any monitoring variances resulting from this.
  • Reporting on development project costs within agreed timetables and milestones.
  • Reviewing incurred project expenditures and overseeing the allocation of project expenses throughout the development.
  • Effectively communicating with JV partners and stakeholders both internal and external.
  • Managing development costs approval, payments runs and drawdown process from internal and external funders.
  • Monitoring payments made against the latest cash flow forecast and requesting loan drawdowns from funding partners.
  • Monitoring planning and construction timetables in accordance with agreed underwriting procedures.
  • Assist with the approval of all purchase invoices relating to development projects and arranging for payment with JV partners and the internal Finance Team.
  • Identifying and reporting continuous improvement initiatives in relation to the project accounting processes and systems.
  • Identifying potential issues and solutions during the project phases, including potential sales, refinancings and other asset management opportunities.
  • Assisting in the preparation of the monthly and quarterly reporting to external investors.
  • Providing detailed input into the bi-monthly asset management reporting processes.

Experience, Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience working within a real estate/property/land development industry.
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent).
  • Ability to work in a high-performance environment.
  • Confident, proactive and organised and able to prioritise workload and deal with key external stakeholders.
  • Analytical with meticulous attention to detail and have commercial knowledge to help drive the performance of the business which is reliant on the performance of the individual projects.
