Description

As a result of new acquisitions, they are seeking to hire an established Real Estate Loan Asset Manager to manage a large UK and European portfolio of sub and non-performing Real Estate loans (investment and development finance).

This is the first Loan Asset Manager hire the firm has made and will offer significant responsibility. Working in a small team the role will provide a steep learning curve due to the firm's flat structure and dynamic environment.

Role description:

  • Manage commercial real estate loans in the UK and continental Europe and monitor their performance.
  • Monitor the performance of properties securing the loans and their ability to support loan payments.
  • Enforcement and work out of non-performing loans.
  • Responsible for reporting and coordinating various service providers.
  • Leading borrower meetings.
  • Assist in sourcing and execution of debt financing for new or existing portfolios.
  • Assist in sourcing, underwriting and preparing business plans for new loan book acquisitions.

Candidate profile:

  • Min 5 years of experience in handling loan management and resolution
  • Experience in sub / non-performing loans
  • Experience in enforcement and work out of non-performing loans
  • Private equity background
  • Understanding of UK legal context
  • Strong experience in handling borrower meetings
  • Strong understanding of real estate
  • Solid attention to details / proactive attitude
  • Good understanding of tax / structuring.
  • Ability to run your own analysis / models for transactions
  • Experience of executing real estate debt transactions within the UK & Europe for a broad range of transactions (across various asset classes as well as investment and development loans).
  • Candidates with experience at a Real Estate private equity servicing firm considered favourably.
  • Eligible to work in the UK / EU without visa sponsorship.

Although the management of loan portfolios is the primary focus of the role, the successful candidate can work across other areas of the business including:

  • Debt financing / capital markets - new investments and refinancing's
  • Direct property asset management
  • Assisting with sourcing and underwriting new loan book acquisitions
