Description

An entrepreneurial Sovereign Wealth backed-European real estate fund, focusing on core/core plus investments, who have invested significantly over the last couple of years, are now looking to hire a senior Asset Manager (Vice President) for their growing team in London.

The Vice President, Asset Manager will work closely with senior management and develop highly detailed business and strategic operating plans for the fund's European assets at both a financial and physical level.

The Vice President, Asset Management will need to demonstrate hands-on asset management experience across direct real estate and operating partners, ideally with value-add and income producing assets across Europe, and have asset managed a wide range of property types.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Assist the Acquisitions team with underwriting and due diligence.
  • Assume responsibility for the execution of individual asset level and venture level business plans including monitoring performance against budgets, income and cost control, project timetables and exit strategies.
  • Prepare internal quarterly valuation reports and develop and maintain financial projection models in Excel.
  • Financially appraise and monitor all capital expenditure programs with tenant retention, competitive positioning, marketing and asset re-positioning as a top priority.
  • Develop and establish high-quality commercial relationships with the fund's direct tenants, joint venture partners, external service providers and professional teams.
  • Where appropriate, directly negotiate leases, rent reviews and lease re-gears to enhance commercial value and landlord and tenant relations.
  • Ensure that all other stakeholders, including any banking partners, are effectively and professionally communicated with and managed.
  • Select, instruct and manage all third-party service providers, to ensure consistency in approach, leveraging specialist skills and achieving efficiency cost savings.
  • Where appropriate, institute monthly, quarterly and annual reporting requirements for all external advisors to ensure full transparency and accountability by all related counterparties.
  • Take ownership of asset management reports to investors and present asset management performance reviews on a regular basis with the team and, from time-to-time, the fund's investors.

Key Experience / Background:

  • At least seven plus years of real estate experience; previous asset management required.
  • A strong academic background; Bachelor's degree in real estate, engineering, architecture, business, economics, finance or similar subject.
  • Demonstrable hands-on asset management experience across Europe.
  • Relevant asset management experience within a real estate private equity fund, real estate investment manager or real estate asset manager.
  • Track record of undertaking repositioning, redevelopment and refurbishment of assets and portfolios.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial and collaborative team environment.
  • Ambitious, energetic, team player, well-organized, with strong interpersonal skills.
  • A 'can do' self-starter with good administrative or project management skills and very high attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle large volume of work; good organizational skills and ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written in English; fluency in another European language is desirable.
