Description

Our client is a Private Equity owned leading Advisory business focusing in the Aerospace, Defence and Software sectors.

They are now looking to bring on an Investment Analyst / Associate to join their Investments team. This is an opportunity to work for an entrepreneurial and fast-growing business with immediate exposure to C-level executives, working alongside a range of subject matter experts. 

The successful candidate will develop a deep understanding of investing fundamentals, risk analysis and M&A, working alongside adjacent business areas such as Strategy Execution, Research, and Solution Evaluation.

Within the Investment team, you will help with identifying, evaluating, and executing a range of acquisitions as well as having close interaction with our portfolio businesses. The team comprises of former investment bankers with a wealth of M&A experience at top-tier firms.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyse and evaluate potential investment opportunities, including business models, key value drivers and investment risks
  • Create and analyse sophisticated financial models to assist in investment evaluation
  • Preparation of investment memoranda for Board approval
  • Assist with evaluation and implementation of transaction structuring alternatives
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders (including subject matter experts and C-suite executives) to support the due diligence and execution process
  • Monitor ongoing financial, operational performance and risk exposure of portfolio companies 
  • Prepare detailed investment analyses for organic growth opportunities.
  • Work entrepreneurially in the team, incorporating Strategy Execution, Research, and Solution Evaluation, to gain a more holistic understanding of investment, as well as the wider Aerospace and Defence landscape.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Highly motivated, numerate, with strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • A minimum of two years’ M&A transaction experience in top-tier Investment Banking or boutique ideally with some areospace & defence sector expereince (not essential).
  • Outstanding academics from a top-tier university
  • Enjoys entrepreneurial environment and is a self-starter
  • Excellent financial modelling, analytical, and research abilities
  • Organised and systematic approach; able to prioritise competing deadlines effectively
  • Excellent writing & communication skills
  • Fluent in English
