Description

Our client is a dynamic leader in the high-growth flexible office market. They have strong experience in the commercial property industry, offering a wide range of services, including serviced and managed office spaces, as well as brokerage. They are expanding rapidly, and are now looking for a Financial Controller to join their team.

This role demands agility, strong technical skills, and the ability to get stuck in. You'll work closely with key stakeholders and have the opportunity to influence future growth.

As the Financial Controller you will play a critical role in the financial management and

strategic planning for the whole company. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Group's financial operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing valuable insights to support decision-making to the Senior Management Team and Board.

Responsibilities:

  • To ensure financial controls and procedures within the company are robust, sustainable, maintained and continually developed to take account of changing requirements.
  • To implement and control changes to the departmental structures, policies, systems and procedures to ensure that the department continually improves its ability to meet key objectives.
  • Ensure routine accounting information is produced promptly and accurately including monthly management accounts.
  • Ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met and collaborate with external auditors and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with financial reporting and tax requirements.
  • Ensure the Company meets its UK and International VAT and Tax obligations.
  • Prepare timely budgets, plans and accurate cash flow forecasts for each Group company.
  • Administer the monthly payroll which is outsourced to an external payroll company.
  • Monitor the financial performance against plans and budgets and recommend actions.
  • Provide accurate data by designing and maintaining systems, models and processes that can be relied on.
  • Effectively lead, manage and motivate the finance team.
  • Oversee the implementation of new controls as and when required, identifying gaps and contribute to the evolving nature of the finance function.
  • Look to potentially streamline and outsource basic accounting functions of the business and transition into a more commercial role involving acquisitions and expansion plans of the Group.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field.
  • ACCA or ACA qualified.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Financial Controller.
  • Strong understanding of financial accounting principles and reporting standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
