Institutional Equity Sales Job Description

We generally look for Salespeople on behalf of our clients due the need for coverage in a new sector,
or to replace a leaving Salesperson.

Experience working in one of our specialist fields would be highly beneficial;

Real Estate / Property / Construction / Retail / FIG / Mining / Telecoms / Media / Technology / Support Services
/ Oil & Gas / Pharmaceuticals/ Renewables/ Cleantech

Working within Equity Sales revolves around developing relationships in the institutional client base.


Institutional Equity Sales Key Responsibilities

  • Provide highly specialised investment advice on companies in the given sector to a wide range of leading institutional investors in the UK or European region.

  • Formulate investment opinions.

  • Dissemination of Equity Research

  • Understanding of financial markets 

  • Helping to onboard clients in sector

  • Provide opinion to media

  • Develop Institutional and Buy Side relationships


Institutional Equity Sales Skills & Requirements

  • Excellent Financial Modelling Skills

  • Sales experience: establishing requirement and pitching solutions 

  • In depth knowledge and interest into the particular sector

  • Strong team-working skills, able to build and maintain efficient business relationships

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills

  • Relationship skills



Salaries for an Equity Salesperson vary hugely depending on experience and company size:

  • Basic salaries can range from £50,000 to £100,000

  • Commission’s will vary from firm to firm, and in accordance with base
