Equity Research Associate Job Description (Sell Side)

We generally look for Associates on behalf of our clients due the need for support for a lead Analyst.

Working within Equity Research revolves around developing unparalleled knowledge of the sector covered, while delivering incisive equity analysis to an institutional client base.

 

Equity Research Associate Key Responsibilities (Sell Side)

  • Providing in-depth analysis of the industry and publicly-traded companies in the sector.

  • Helping to formulate investment opinions.

  • Drafting and writing research reports.

 

Equity Research Associate Skills & Requirements (Sell Side)

  • Excellent Financial Modelling Skills

  • Candidates will display an outstanding academic record

  • Tertiary qualifications (ACA, CFA, and MBA) and a proven record of achievement within research, a leading accountancy practice, consultancy or industry.

  • In depth knowledge and interest into the particular sector

 

Remuneration

Salaries for a Equity Research Associate vary depending on experience and company size:

  • An Associate’s basic can range from £50,000 to £75,000

 

Career Progression

Most Associates would seek to become a fully fledged Equity Research Analyst within 4 to 5 years and cover 15 to 20 companies from initiation, working on Corporate Finance deals as the industry expert, and developing a client base both within the industry sector and with the institutional buy side client base.
